Buffalo Chevrolet fans will meet the 2012 Sonic later this year at West Herr Chevrolet Orchard Park. The small car that boasts an aggressive, youthful design will be available in a five-door hatchback or four-door sedan model.

The 2012 Chevy Sonic will appeal to a broad audience, including eco-conscious Buffalo Chevrolet shoppers who want more bang for their buck at the pump. Sonic shoppers can choose from an available Ecotec 1.4L turbo engine rated at an estimated 138 horsepower, 18 horsepower more than the Ford Fiesta, or the standard Ecotec 1.8L engine paired with five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions. Both will deliver competitive fuel economy.

Inside, the Sonic is spacious. The sedan model will offer segment-best trunk capacity that is greater than most compact cars. The hatchback model joins the sedan to offer better rear-seat roominess than Ford Fiesta. With a rear seat that folds nearly flat, the Sonic hatchback has greater cargo capacity than Fiesta.

From the outside, Sonic sedan and five-door models convey strength, stability and refinement. A wide, planted stance, with wheels-at-the-corners proportions, conveys performance. Progressive, raked body lines suggest movement even when the car is stationary.

Details that reinforce Sonic’s quality and attention to detail include chrome grille surrounds and matte black honeycomb grille inserts on all models, while a range of large wheel sizes, including 17-inch alloy wheels, reinforces its sporty demeanor.
